2018-19 regular season closes with trips to St. Cloud State, Minnesota Duluth

The Bemidji State University women’s basketball program closes out its regular season schedule with a road trip Feb. 22-23 at St. Cloud State University and University of Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers play the final weekend before the Northern Sun intercollegiate Conference Tournament begins Wednesday, Feb. 27.

St. Cloud State leads the all-time series against Bemidji State, 40-17. BSU has won two of the previous six meetings against SCSU, including a split during the 2017-18 season. The Huskies won the first of two meetings this season, 74-56, in Bemidji, Minn. The Beavers trailed by just five points heading into the fourth quarter before the Huskies closed the final 4:20 of play on a 16-3 run.

Sophomore guard Brooklyn Bachmann paced BSU with 14 points and five rebounds, while sophomore center Taylor Bray added 13 points and pulled down a team-best eight rebounds. The series began in 1969, a win by Bemidji State. The Beavers won five of the first six games of the series.

Minnesota Duluth leads the all-time series against Bemidji State, 72-30. UMD has won 20 of the last 21 games, while BSU took its most recent win Jan. 7, 2017 in Bemidji, Minn., 60-57. The Bulldogs won the first game of the season series Jan. 4, 60-40, in Bemidji while controlling the game the entire way. UMD held a 54-23 lead heading into the fourth quarter, while BSU outscored UMD in the final period, 17-6.

Bachmann scored seven points and added a team-best four rebounds. The series began in 1968, a win by Bemidji State. The Beavers won 13 consecutive games between 1971 and 1977.
