The Bemidji State University volleyball team ends non-conference action by facing some of the nation’s top-ranked teams at the Huskies Classic hosted by St. Cloud State University.

The Beavers begin the tournament by facing Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponent and host school, St. Cloud State, Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. The Huskies received 17 votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches’ Association Poll after opening the season 4-0.

BSU will then continue play Friday, Sept. 13 by facing No. 21 Michigan Tech at 11 a.m., followed by South Dakota School of Mines and Technology at 3:30 p.m.

The Beavers wrap-up the tournament Saturday, Sept. 14 with one match against No. 14 Wheeling University at 3 p.m.

St. Cloud State: Thursday’s meeting between the Beavers and Huskies will be the 69th all-time meeting between the two teams. St. Cloud State owns the all-time series record at 46-22 and is currently on a four-match win streak against the Beavers. In their last meeting, SCSU defeated the Beavers 3-2 in Bemidji, Sept. 8, 2018. Head coach Kevin Ulmer is 1-4 all-time coaching against the Huskies.

Michigan Tech: Friday’s matchup against the Huskies will be the 10th all-time meeting between BSU and Michigan Tech. The Huskies own the all-time series record at 8-1 and are currently on a five-match win streak. In their last meeting, Michigan Tech defeated the Beavers 3-0 at the Northern Michigan Tournament on Aug. 31, 2018. Head coach Kevin Ulmer is 0-2 all-time coaching against the Huskies.

SD School of Mines: Friday’s match between the Beavers and Miners will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams with the series record being tied at 2-2. The Beavers have won the last two meetings with their most recent win happening Sept. 1, 2017 with a 3-0 win at the Minot State Classic. Head coach Kevin Ulmer is 2-0 all-time coaching against the Miners.

Wheeling: The last match of the tournament will feature the first-ever meeting between Bemidji State and Wheeling.
