Buckeyes top Beavers 3-1

Bemidji State’s top forward scoring line was stopped by Ohio State in game two on Saturday night in Columbus.

The Buckeyes would strike late in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Late in the second period, BSU would get scoring from rookie Danielle Williams at the 17:25 mark of the second period. The tying goal would be Williams’ first collegiate goal.

Zuzana Tomcikova played another outstanding game between the pipes for BSU, however, the Beavers were unable to contain OSU’s top three scorers. The Buckeyes took a 2-1 lead at the end of the second period. Just as the Beavers had pulled Tomcikova for the extra attacker late in the third, OSU’s Minttu Tuominen would collect a headman pass in neutral ice and send it into the empty BSU net for the 3-1 win.

The Beavers are now 4-4-2-1 in WCHA play and 6-6-2 overall.

BSU hosts the University of Minnesota December 3 & 4 at the BREC. The puck drops at 2:07pm both days.
