Zoe Christensen to throw at NCAA DII Indoor Championships Friday

Bemidji State University track & field junior thrower Zoe Christensen will represent the program Friday, March 12 at the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala.

Christensen is the lone Beavers to qualify for the championship meet and will compete in the shot put at 4 p.m. at the Birmingham CrossPlex. She is one of 13 student-athletes set to compete in the shot put. This season marks the second consecutive NCAA DII Indoor Championship meet qualified for after also traveling for the meet in 2020. Last year’s meet was canceled due to COVID-19, but Christensen earned the program’s first All-America honor since 2011.

Christensen earned her second consecutive All-Central Region honor in the shot put and enters the NCAA DII Indoor Championships ranked seventh nationally in the event. She placed second in the event during the 2021 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships to earn her second consecutive all-conference honor. Christensen competed in the shot put four times during the 2021 indoor season, hitting the NCAA provisional qualifying mark each time.
