Bemidji State University women’s hockey was defeated 2-1 in game one of WCHA Quarterfinals versus No. 4 University of Wisconsin. The Beavers and Badgers will meet again today at 3 p.m. when the Beavers will try to force the Badgers into a tie-breaking third game which would take place Sunday at 2 p.m. at LaBahn Arena.
The Beavers marked the lone first-period goal from senior Graysen Myers. Assists from Makenna Deering and Reece Hunt put the Beavers up by one going into the first period. Just over midway through the second period, Wisconsin’s Maddi Wheeler answered Myers’ goal to tie the game.
Wisconsin’s Brette Pettet found the final goal of the night off assists from Sophie Shirley and Maddi Wheeler, putting the Badgers up, 2-1, to end the game and take the first win of the WCHA Quarterfinal playoff series.
