Beavers head to Missouri for final tournament of the season

The Bemidji State University golf team travels to Smithville, Mo. this weekend to compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championships. The team’s final tournament of the 2021-22 season takes place at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, Outlaw Course, Apr. 22-24.

Last season the Beavers finished in eight place, out of 13 teams in the conference. The team’s finish was propelled by senior Lauren Stockmoe’s 13th place finish with a final score of 246, 15 over par. The tournament champion, MacKayla Olsen of Upper Iowa University, shaved 10 strokes off Stockmoe’s score, finishing five above par at 234. Mollie Albrecht also broke into the top 25 lineup, marking a final score of 253, ending 37 over par.

In the most recent tournament, the Beavers finished in 10th place at the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb. Mollie Albrecht was the lone Beaver to find a spot in the top 50, tying for 50th with a score of 173, 29 over par.

The NSIC tournament begins Friday with a 9 a.m. tee time start. Saturday will follow the same start style. Sunday morning, teams will finish the tournament with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
