Beaver Fever Friday – Tierra Doss – Track

Track and Field start 2023 season at The Opener in Duluth, Minn.

The Bemidji State University women’s track & field team is slated to start its 2023 indoor season at The Opener in Duluth, Minn. The Beavers will be traveling east for their 12 p.m., meet at the Burns Wellness Commons hosted by College of St. Scholastica on Saturday, Dec. 10.
 

This is the first track meet the Beavers will compete in since the end of their 2021-22 season. Their last meet they finished 10th in at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 14, 2022. Bemidji State has added 13 new student-athletes to the program with an addition of new head coach Mike Lynch. The Beavers were selected to finish 11thin the NSIC coaches’ poll. 
 
Seniors Alaina Hall and Anastasia Klein were named the Beavers’ Preseason Athletes to Watch. Hall competing in the 60m dash was able to rack up five third-place finishes, three second-place finishes and one first-place finish. Hall has the sixth fastest time in the NSIC and 17th in the NCAA Central Region with a time of 7.69. Klein set a new Bemidji State pole vault record with 3.39m/11-1.50 at the NSIC Challenge last year. Finishing the season Klein finished ranked ninth in the NSIC and 33rd in the NCAA Central region for pole vault.
