Women’s Hockey set to travel to top-seeded Ohio State for first round of WCHA Playoffs

BSU Women’s Hockey faces regular season champions Ohio State for best-of-three series

The Bemidji State University Women’s Hockey team found out its Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoffs first round opponent Sunday afternoon and will travel to regular season champions and top seed Ohio State University for a best-of-three series.

The Beavers and Buckeyes drop the puck on their series beginning Friday, Feb. 24 at OSU Ice Rink in Columbus, Ohio. Game one of the best-of-three series will begin at 5:00 p.m. CT with game two Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT and if needed a game three will be played Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT.

The defending national champions Ohio State swept the Beavers in both regular season series this season and will look to repeat as WCHA Final Faceoff Champions.

The premier conference tournament in women’s college hockey, the 2023 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff is set for March 3-4, 2023 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. Annually featuring a collection of the nation’s highest-ranked programs and best players, the WCHA’s four remaining teams will compete for the league’s playoff championship and automatic berth to the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

The league’s top event and best weekend of the year for college hockey fans, the two-day 2023 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff weekend is a celebration of the sport’s past, present, and future.
