Men’s Hockey Adds Goalie

Bemidji State University men’s ice hockey head coach Tom Serratore today announced the addition of goaltender Reid Mimmack (Fr., 6-2, 195, Brainerd, Minn.) to the BSU roster for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.

A native of Brainerd, Minn., Mimmack, comes to Bemidji State from Jamestown, where he helped the Ironmen to an overall record of 21-8-3 to sit tied for the top spot in the North American Hockey Association (NAHL) North Division standings.

Mimmack fills the roster space vacated by freshman goaltender Fabian Sivnert (Hollviken, Sweden), who left the team at the conclusion of the first semester.

A three-year veteran of the NAHL, Mimmack posted a 17-5-1 record in 1,335 minutes of action this season for Jamestown. He has a total of 574 saves with a .917 save percentage and a 2.34 goals against average. He left the team tied for second in the league with 17 victories, tied for third with three shutouts and is among the top 10 NAHL goaltenders in both goals against average and goals allowed (52).

Mimmack made an appearance in 74 NAHL games over since 2010-11. He wrapped up his NAHL career with a 33-31-4 overall record, a 2.45 goals agaisnt average and a .910 save percentage. He compiled five shutouts with stints for Jamestown, Springfield, Chicago, Aberdeen and Texas.

Bemidji State, now 5-8-3 overall and 4-7-3 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play, returns to action Dec. 30-31 when the Beavers are slated to participate in the Ledyard National Bank Classic hosted by No. 10 Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. BSU opens the event versus University of Massachusetts at 3 p.m. Sunday, with its opponent Monday in the classic-style event, either Dartmouth or No. 2 University of New Hampshire with the time to be determined by the opponent.
