WCHA Issues One-Game Suspension to Bemidji State’s Marinaccio

The men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association today announced a one-game suspension to Bemidji State University hockey player Phillip Marinaccio as a result of his actions in the December 14 game against University of Alaska.

Marinaccio’s suspension was determined after a review by the league office of an illegal check at the 17:06 mark of the third period and comes under the WCHA’s Supplementary Discipline Policy and Procedures. Marinaccio was assessed a 5:00 major for spearing and a 10:00 game misconduct at the time of the incident.

Marinaccio will be required to serve the one-game suspension in Bemidji State’s next regularly scheduled contest on Friday, January 3 against Northern Michigan University.
