Zuzana Tomcikova, All-American

The American Hockey Coaches Association has named Bemidji State University women’s hockey goaltender Zuzana Tomcikova to the 2012 CCM Division I Women’s Hockey Second Team All-American. With this honor, Tomcikova becomes the first All-American in BSU women’s hockey history.

Zuzana wrapped up four years of playing for BSU breaking every positive goaltending record. She is the all-time leader in games played (118), minutes played (6945:05), saves (3,518), save percentage (.929), goals against average (2.32), wins (41) and shutouts (18). “Z” was our Beaver Radio Network intern this past hockey season and was a huge help to Kelly Schultz, the ‘Voice of BSU Women’s Hockey.’ She wrote a blog recapping each weekend series which you can read here: Zuzka’s Blog. She also voiced “10 Questions” with her teammates that aired each weekend.

Z has been a big part of the success of this Bemidji State women’s hockey program and has left her mark, not only in the record books, but also in the memories and hearts of those who watched her play for the Beavers.
