The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team travels to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on No. 1 Minnesota in a WCHA series Feb. 7-8. Sixteen of BSU’s 28 games have been against teams currently ranked in the national polls (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Robert Morris, Minnesota Duluth). BSU is 1-14-1 against those teams compared to 8-2-2 against every other team.

No. 1 Minnesota (26-1-1, 20-1-1 WCHA) has been on top of the national polls all season long. The Gophers have outscored opponents 129-31 this season. Sophomore Hannah Brandt is second in the country with 44 points (14g, 30 a). Brandt is followed closely by teammate Rachael Bona with 42 points (16g, 26a), who leads the team in goals. Defensively, Amanda Leveille has been stellar in net for the Gophers as she has a 1.12 goals against average to go along with a 26-1-1 record.
