Baseball Spilts With Minot State, Regular Season Finale Sunday

The Bemidji State Beavers beat their counterparts from North Dakota in game one of the doubleheader in Bemidji Saturday, but lost in game two, splitting the first two games of the four game series.

Bemidji State’s Beavers improved to 5-1 in extra inning games with a 4-3 win in ten innings in game one. Zach Braun led off the tenth with a double, moved to third on a single up the middle by Bo Schmitz, then scored on a base hit by Cole Bjorge. Drake Huggans got the win out of the bullpen.

Game two went to the Minot State Beavers. Minot State scored the winning runs in the 6th. Mark Kosmalski took the loss. With the split, Bemidji State remains in ninth place in the NSIC standings. The top eight teams in the final standings make the NSIC Tournament which starts on Wednesday.
