Alum Travis Winter Hired as Assistant Men’s Hockey Coach

Former Bemidi State men’s hockey player Travis Winter has been hired to replace Bert Gilling as an Assistant Men’s Hockey Coach. BSU made the announcement today. Winter was a senior on the team that played in the Frozen Four in 2009. Since he graduated, Winter has been an assistant and a head coach in the USHL and the NAHL.

Most recently Winter was the head coach in Aberdeen, SD in the NAHL.

Winter replaces Bert Gilling, who announced that he was taking the Head Coaching job at Mount Royal in Calgary, Alberta.

Winter is a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
