The Bemidji State volleyball team battled back from a 2-0 deficit Friday to defeat Minot State University in five sets (22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-12). The victory marks the Beavers’ second straight fifth-set, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory.

The Beavers went down early in the match after losing the first two sets 25-22 and 25-21, but rallied back in the third set to win 25-22.

Bemidji State and Minot State would go toe-to-toe in the fourth set and were tied 12-12 mid-way through the set. However, the Beavers would go on to score nine out of 12 points to distance themselves from MSU. BSU went on to win the set 25-18.

BSU would need another comeback in the fifth set to pull out victories in the match after going down early 6-10 to MSU. The Beavers scored four straight points to tie the score and then finished the set by scoring five out of seven points to win 15-12.

Bemidji State (4-9; 2-2 NSIC) looks to stretch its winning streak to three matches tomorrow when it travels to Bismarck, N.D. to battle the University of Mary in a 6 p.m. league match up.
