BSU’s Stephanie Anderson Invited to USA Hockey Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Bemidji State University forward Stephanie Anderson is one of 29 women’s hockey players invited to participate in the USA Hockey Women’s National Team Off-Ice Training Camp June 1-5 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado, Springs, Colo.

The invite marks the second consecutive summer Anderson will participate in the event.

The camp will focus on invited athletes’ strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental skills as the organization continues to assemble its roster for the Four Nations Cup in Finland in November.

Anderson, who served an assistant captain for the Beavers in 2015-16, played in 31 games as a senior. She led BSU with 11 goals and added eight assists for 19 points to rank fifth on the team. She recorded five game-winning goals, which paced the Beavers and ranked third in the WCHA, while she was second on the team with 102 shots on goal. In addition, she scored two power-play goals and registered a +6 plus/minus rating. As a senior, she recorded three-multi point games and established a career-best three-point game versus Lindenwood (Jan. 7) to spark a seven-game point-streak during which she posted seven points with four goals and three assists. Following the season she was recognized as a member of the the Academic All-WCHA Team.

The North St. Paul, Minn. native also played for Team USA in the 2014 Four Nations Cup, Nov. 4-8, and helped bring home the gold medal. She recorded an assist in four games played. Anderson was also invited to the 2015 USA Women’s Winter Camp Dec. 27-Jan. 1. Following the 2015-16 season, she was named to the U.S. National Team roster for the 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship but was unable to participate due to injury.
