The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team kicks off its Thanksgiving break by traveling to St. Cloud State University for a non-conference tilt Wednesday, Nov. 22. The Beavers (5-8-2, 3-6-1 WCHA) and Huskies (2-12-0, 1-9-0 WCHA) will take a break from Western Collegiate Hockey Association for one game the day before Thanksgiving.

The Huskies promote the event as “Pack the HBNHC” with admission just $1 for all fans. SCSU will also be holding a food drive that night with all donations benefiting the local food shelf Catholic Charities.

The Beavers and Huskies will meet for the 83rd meeting in the two program’s history. Bemidji State owns the series record at 39-34-9 and swept the last series on Nov. 10-11 earlier this season. Senior Erin Deters posted back-to-back shutouts in the series earning WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors. Senior Alexis Joyce leads active skaters with nine points (2g-7a) in 14 games against the Huskies Junior Emily Bergland (5g-1a) and sophomore Haley Mack (0g-6a) follow with six points each. Head coach Jim Scanlan is 10-3-1 against St. Cloud State and 60-56-9 in his four-year career.
