Beaver Fever Friday – Sydney Arrington – Womens Basketball

The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team faces one of the toughest road trips of the season while facing (14) Northern State University Dec. 8 and (RV) Minnesota State University Moorhead Dec. 9. The Beaver begin the weekend of games Friday at 6 p.m. in Wachs Arena against the Wolves and finish it Saturday at 4 p.m. in Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse against the Dragons.

Bemidji State and Northern State meet for the 66th time in the series, led by NSU, 55-10. BSU won four of the first five games that began Jan. 24, 1986. The last Beavers win came Jan. 26, 2013, 64-57, in Bemidji. The Wolves have won the last eight meetings.

Senior center Sierra Senske averaged 10.0 points per game last season in two meetings against the Wolves. She shot 57.1 percent from the field and went 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Senior forward Sam Adamich grabbed six rebounds grabbed six rebounds off the bench in last year’s final meeting between the two programs.

Bemidji State continues the longest series in program history against MSU Moorhead, led by MSUM, 65-39. The Beavers won five of the first nine games of the series that began in 1967. The last BSU win came Dec. 2, 2011, 75-68, in Moorhead, Minn. MSUM has won 11 straight games against BSU.

Senske again led BSU in scoring against MSUM, averaging 16.0 points per game with 5.0 rebounds per game. In the second meeting of the 2016-17 season, Senske reached 1,000 career points with the Beavers, ending the game with 20 points total.
