The Bemidji State University men’s hoops program has a chance to move above .500 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with a road trip to face No. 16 Northern State University Friday, Dec. 8 and Minnesota State University Moorhead Saturday, Dec. 9.

Northern State leads the all-time series against Bemidji State, 61-27, that dates back to Dec. 18, 1959. Both teams have won two of the last four meetings, while the Beavers took the most recent matchup, 63-59, Feb. 11, 2017.

Sophomore guard Jai’Vionne Green scored 21 points in the road win against the Wolves, while senior guard Christian Pekarek chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds. BSU shot 38.9 percent from the floor combined in the two meetings last season.

Bemidji State continues its longest rivalry in program history with the 181st meeting versus MSU Moorhead. The Dragons lead the all-time series, 97-83, that first began Feb. 17, 1928 in Moorhead, Minn. MSUM took the first seven games of the series and have also won the six most recent meetings, including a 102-78 win in Moorhead Feb. 10, 2017.

Green averaged 17.5 points per game against the Dragons while shooting 53.8 percent from the field. Senior guard Sharif Black scored 12 points with eight assists in the first matchup of the 2016-17 season. Sophomore forward Lucas Wendt came off the bench with 12 points in the season finale against the then-No. 24 ranked Dragons.
