Beavers Scored Twice in First Minute, Fall To Seawolves

Bemidji State University Senior Matt Read (F, Ilderton, Ontario) netted two goals and the Beavers entered the third period tied 3-3 with Alaska Anchorage, but a pair of Seawolves' goals in the final frame ultimately proved to be too much for BSU.  UAA claimed the first ever meeting between the teams, 5-4, Friday at Sanford Center.

Bemidji State scored two goals in the first forty-two seconds as Sam Rendle (D, Grand Rapids, MN) scored on a shot from the left corner just twenty-seven seconds into the game.  Then Mat Read scored on a break-a-way just fifteen seconds later to put Bemidji State up 2-0.

Anchorage would answer back, however, scoring at 1:27 of the first to enter the dressing room trailing by just one goal.

Bemidji State will host Anchorage again tomorrow night at the Sanford Center.  The Budweiser Pregame Show begins at 6:30pm...with the faceoff at 7:07pm.
