Women's Hockey Scores 10 in Exhibition Season Opener

Beavers win 10-3! What a great way to open up the 2011-12 women's hockey season!
The Beavers got scoring from eight different players this past Friday night when they hosted the Thunder Bay Queens Midget AA team at the Sanford Center.
It was fun to see scoring from our upper class: Montana Vichorek, Lauren Williams, Marlee Wheelhouse, and Kim Lieder! And also get scoring from some newcomers, including two goals from freshman Rachael Kelly and sophomore transfer Kristi King. Rounding out the scoring was Dani Williams and Tess Dusik, members of last year's freshman "Fab Five."
The Beaver defense didn't have to work too hard for the 10-3 win. Goalies Zuzana Tomcikova and Alana McElhinney split the game and only saw a combined 17 shots. Zuzka recorded the win despite giving up the three goals, while Mac recorded 30 minutes of shutout hockey.
