Beavers go head-to-head with No. 4 Minnesota State in regular-season finale
The Bemidji State University men’s hockey team heads south to battle intrastate rival and 2018-19 Western Collegiate Hockey Association Champion Minnesota State University, Mankato, March 1-2 for a two-game league series to wrap up the regular season. Trailing Lake Superior State University by two points for the fourth-and-final home playoff spot with two games left, the Beavers need points versus the nation’s No. 4 team this weekend for any chance of hosting a first round playoff series.
The Beavers have just one loss in their last seven contests (3-3-1) and enter the series having split (L, 3-2 and W, 4-2) with the then-No. 3 Mavericks in Bemidji, Minn., Nov. 22-23.
The series is set to get underway at 7:07 p.m. Friday from the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minn. with Saturday’s regular-season finale set for a 7:07 p.m. Puck drop.
