Bemidji State University senior golfer Chris Swenson was named the Beavers’ preseason Golfer to watch in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll released Wednesday. Along with Swenson, the Beavers were picked to finish fourth by league coaches after accumulating 47 points and one first place vote.

Reigning NSIC Champions Winona State University was picked to repeat as champions while Concordia University-St. Paul and Minnesota State University, Mankato round out the top three vote getters.

Swenson returns for his senior season after posting a 76.0 scoring average last season to finish second on the team and tied for second at the NSIC Spring Championships for his only top-five finish last season.

The Beavers begin the fall season September 6-7 by traveling to Lake City, Minn., to compete at the J.R. Watkins Invite at the Jewel Golf Club.
