Track and Field begins indoor season at Dakota Classic, The Opener
The Bemidji State University track and field program opens its indoor season Dec. 6-7 with the Dakota Classic and The Opener for a two-day weekend. The Beavers open the season Friday at 1 p.m. at the Dakota Classic in Fargo, N.D., before Saturday’s 11 a.m. start-time at The Opener in Duluth, Minn.
The Dakota Classic begins with the pentathlon at 12:20 p.m. and the weight throw at 1 p.m. with the shot put to follow. Running events begin at 4:30 p.m. with the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles. All indoor track and field events will take part in the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility in Fargo.
The Opener will start with field events at 11 a.m. with track events following at 11:30 a.m. Saturday’s events will take place in the Burns Wellness Commons in Duluth and is the 12th straight season BSU has taken part in the meet.
