Winless in its last five games, the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team travels to St. Cloud State University for an important Western Collegiate Hockey Association series versus the Huskies (2-7-0, 2-7-0 WCHA) January 15-16. The Beavers (1-6-1, 1-6-1 WCHA) not only hope to end their losing skid, but also hope to earn six points in the WCHA standings and jump the Huskies for sixth place. The series will take place at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center with puck drop for game one of the series slated for 6:07 p.m., Friday followed by a 3:07 p.m., puck drop Saturday.
Bemidji State and St. Cloud State will meet for the 98th and 99th meetings in the all-time series history
The Beavers lead the all-time series record at 48-40-9 (.542) and are 21-21-5 (.500) when playing at St. Cloud State.
Bemidji State and St. Cloud State met earlier this season in the first series of the 2020-21 season. The Beavers and Huskies played two thrilling games that each went into the 3-on-3 overtime with the Huskies earning a 3-2 victory in game one while the Beavers answered back with a 3-2 victory in game two to split the series.
The Beavers are 3-2-0 in the past five games against the Huskies with four of those games having been decided in overtime.
Bemidji State was led by senior Clair DeGeorge in its past series with SCSU when she totaled four points off of three goals and one assist in two games and scored the game-winning overtime goal.
Head Coach Jim Scanlan is 19-9-1 (.672) coaching against the Huskies while second-year head coach Steve Macdonald is 2-5-0 (.286).
Bemidji State is led by senior captain Clair DeGeorge who has posted 13 points (5g-8a) in 16 career games against SCSU while fellow senior Lydia Passolt follows with seven points (3g-4a) in 11 career games.
Senior Kerigan Dowhy has appeared in three games in net against the Huskie. She has posted a 1-2-0 record to go along with a .899 save percentage and 2.62 goals against average.
