Beavers prepare for Bison Open Feb. 4-5 in Fargo, N.D.
The Bemidji State University track & field team will travel to Fargo, N.D., Feb. 4-5 to compete at the NDSU Open at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility. Friday’s events begin with the pentathlon at 11 a.m. before Saturday’s start at 12 p.m. with the 3,000-meter run.
The 4×400-meter relay team of Janice Cole, Maryse Mbenoun, Rachel Myers and Skyler Tillery broke the Bemidji State University indoor track & field record in the event Saturday as BSU competed at the UND Indoor Open in Grand Forks, N.D.
The 4x400m relay finished first in the event with a BSU record time of 3:58.00 on a 300m track, breaking the previous record set in 2019. Mbenoun also earned an individual event win in the 600m run, entering the season as the reining 600m champion in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Mbenoun took first in the run with a time of 1:37.08, less than two seconds off her BSU record.
Bemidji State totaled 10 top-five finishes and 17 top-10, including third-place finishes from sophomore sprinter Alaina Hall in the 60m dash and sophomore distance runner Carol Miller in the 1,000m run. In total, BSU saw 18 personal records fall.
