Beavers Bring Home Third Place Finish from Jimmie Spring Swing
Bemidji State University women’s golf team finished the Jimmie Spring Swing in third place during Interim Head Coach Erica Gartner’s first tournament at the helm.
Gartner, who played basketball and golf for Bemidji State from 2016-2020 and coached Women’s Basketball for the past two seasons, helped the Beavers to their first top 30 percent finish of the season. The team now prepares for the Wayne State College Wildcat Classic to be held Apr. 11 and 12.
Mollie Albrecht led the Beavers during round one, marking a score of 87, 16 over par, and tying for sixth place heading into day two. Jocelyn Nyblom and Morgan Sammon also made the top-20 lineup after day one. Albrecht ended the tournament in the top spot for the Beavers, finishing in fourth place with a final score of 170. Sammon and Nyblom followed Albrecht with scores of 182 and 186, respectively.
The Beavers finished day one tied for third place, marking a 366 total between the top four golfers on the Beaver lineup. After day two, the Beavers pulled away from the tie and took third place, outright, with a score of 722.
