Bemidji State Baseball concludes 2023 season at home Friday and Saturday
Beavers to honor eight seniors during three-game series against Minot State
The Bemidji State University Baseball team concludes its 2023 season this weekend with a three-game, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference series with Minot State University at the BSU Baseball Field. The “Beaver Battle” is set to begin Friday, May 5 with a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. The two teams will then play the final game of the regular season Saturday at Noon but could move the game sooner with forecasted rain that day.
The Beavers will honor their eight seniors following game two Friday in part of Senior Day festivities. Logan Barrick, Derek Dolezal, Wyatt Hamann, Will Lavin, Zach Listiak, Carter Simon, Christian Turner and James Wirt will all be playing their final games at the BSU Baseball Field.

Bemidji State is batting .232 at the plate as a team to rank 15th in the NSIC while its pitching staff also ranks 15th with a team ERA of 12.64. The Beavers are led by junior Jack Munson who is batting .318 with a slugging percentage of .565 and on-base percentage of .352. He is 41st in the NSIC with an OPS (on-base + slugging) .917. He has started 43-of-45 games this season and in 154 at bats, has collected 49 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, seven home runs to lead the team in every statistic. He has driven in 29 runs while earning eight walks and has stolen four bases.
Senior Logan Barrick (1-3) leads the Bemidji State pitching staff having thrown 49.2 innings and has compiled a team-best 5.07 ERA in nine appearances. He has collected 40 punch outs this season to rank sixth in program history with 122 career strikeouts. He is followed by junior Will Lavin (1-7) who has pitched 40.2 innings and has an ERA of 7.75 in nine appearances. He leads the Beavers with 53 strikeouts to stand 16th in the NSIC and has totaled 148 career punchouts, second most all-time at BSU.
Minot State enters the weekend sixth in the NSIC standings with a league record of 17-14 and 26-17 overall. The Beavers will attempt to hold its position in the standings and currently qualify for the eight-team NSIC Baseball Tournament. Minot State is led at the plate by Gunnar Kozlowitz who is batting .395 with a slugging percentage of .769 and on-base percentage of .439. Bryant Bagshaw leads the Beavers’ pitching staff with 53.0 innings pitched and is 6-2 with an ERA of 5.43.
