Women’s Golf to compete at Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl
Beavers set for third tournament of the fall
The Bemidji State University Women’s Golf team travels to Wisconsin this Monday and Tuesday for their third tournament of the fall when they will compete in the Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Course.
Bemidji State is coming off the Tracy Lane Memorial in which the Beavers placed sixth. Mollie Albrecht posted her second-straight seventh-place finish to lead BSU. Albrecht had rounds of 78-81 for a 159. She was just two shots back of fourth and three back of second.
Joining Bemidji State at the Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl will include Concordia-St. Paul, Upper Iowa, Winona State, UMary, Wayne State, St. Kate’s, Minnesota, Minnesota Crookston, Minot State and Minnesota State.
Maddy Sawyer placed 33rd with rounds of 92-88 for a 180. Haylee Kammann and Elli Anderson finished close together with Kammann coming away with a 185 (93-92) and Anderson with a 187 (94-93). Savannah Byfuglien and Isabella Depew tied with scores of 199. Nakomis Mitchell tallied a 204.
Last year, the Beavers competed in the Golden Bear Classic as the third tournament of the fall. Bemidji State placed fourth and Albrecht placed fifth with a 149. Sawyer, Byfuglien and Depew all competed in that same tournament. Sawyer carded a 182, Byfiglien with a 192 and Depew fired a 201.
Following the trip to Wisconsin, the Beavers will have just one tournament left this fall traveling to Marshall, Minn., to compete in the Mustang Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
