Beavers shoot program-low 321 on first day of Watkins Invite; Finish ninth
The Bemidji State University Women’s Golf team shot a program-low 321 during the opening round of the Watkins Invitational and finished ninth in the tournament Tuesday afternoon. Four Beavers shot career-lows at the tournament including sophomore Elli Anderson who carded a career-best 164 with a career-low round of 77 on the first day.
Anderson paced the Beavers and tied for 39th individually but was not far in front of freshmen Sara Sroga (79-86) and Trista Bilden (78-87) who each carded 165 and also shot career-lows.
The Beavers finished with a team score of 669, their lowest two-round score since 2021 and shot a new program low 321 on the first day besting the previous program low of 322 set at the SMSU Spring Challenge on March 15, 2019.
Sophomore Haylee Kammann carded 175 (87-88) while freshman Bailey Tilley rounded out the Beavers’ five scores shooting a career-best 194 (98-96).
The fall portion of the schedule is now complete. The Spring portion will resume once the snow melts.
