14 Beavers earn All-NSIC Football honors

Six offensive and eight defensive student athletes earned All-NSIC nods

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has named 14 Bemidji State University student athletes to this year’s All-NSIC First and Second Teams. Six student athletes from the offense and eight from defense earned the end-of-season honors.

First Team Offense
Jake Gannon | Center | Graduate Student | Franklin, Wis.

Aided Bemidji State rushers in achieving 1947 rushing yards during the regular season with 19 touchdowns and an average rush of 4.3 yards.

Allowed BSU’s offense to reach 218 first downs, over 50 more than opponents, with 101 rushing and 100 passing.

After the regular season, BSU’s offense ranked 19th in the NCAA for 3rd down conversion, 12th in 4th down conversion, 44th in first downs offense, 28th in rushing offense, 40th in sacks allowed, 21st in tackles for loss allowed, 7th in time of possession, 50th in total offense, and 28th in winning percentage.

Gannon’s blocking has allowed quarterback Sam McGath time in the backfield to reach 39th in completions per game, 31st in passing touchdowns, 45th in passing yards, 21st in points responsible for and 42nd in total offense.

Brice Peters | Wide Receiver | Senior | White Bear Lake, Minn.

Led all BSU receivers in the regular season with 58 receptions for 985 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Averages 89.55 receiving yards per game with a longest reception of 69 yards.

Has contributed to Bemidji State’s 2,222 total receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns.

Peters leads the NSIC in receiving yards and receiving yards per game while also sitting at 15th and 17th nationally in those respective categories.

He also sits at 43rd nationally and 4th in the conference for total touchdowns scored with 11.

First Team Defense
Cade Barrett | Defensive Line | Senior | Lake Shore, Minn.

Barrett collected 34 total tackles during the regular season with 15 solo and 19 assisted.

He also marked 11 tackles for a loss of 49 yards total, seven of which earned quarterback sacks for 35 yards.

Marked three pass breakups and three forced fumbles, two of which came during strip sacks.

A member of the No. 7 defense in the NCAA with an average of 240.8 total yards allowed on defense.

Ranks 41st in the NCAA and second in the conference, behind teammate Marcus Hansen, for sacks.

Marcus Hansen | Defensive Line | Redshirt Junior | Waseca, Minn.

Marcus Hansen led the Beavers with 13.5 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks this season. He amassed 65 tackle-for-a-loss yards and 46 from sacking opponents’ quarterbacks.

A menace in the backfield, Hansen added 18 quarterback hurries and three pass breakups, plus a lone forced fumble.

In total, Hansen came in second on the team with 52 total tackles on 32 solos and 20 assisted.

Played a huge roll in the Beavers earning the 23rd spot nationally for team sacks and 21st in passing yards allowed.

Hansen is first in the NSIC and 24th in the NCAA for sacks as well as 51st in tackles for a loss, second in the conference.

Stephen Hoffman | Defensive Line | Graduate Student | St. Paul, Minn.

Marked 41 total tackles in the regular season with 15 solo and 26 assisted.

Tallied 10 tackles for a loss with six sacks and one pass breakup.

Hoffman also forced two fumbles and hurried quarterbacks 14 times.

Is 67th in the NCAA for sacks and 131st for tackles for a loss.

Isaiah Johnson | Defensive Back | Junior | Chicago Heights, Ill.

Marked 15 total tackles with 11 solo and four assisted.

Tallied a tackle for a loss of two yards against Minot State University

Grabbed one interception against Southwest Minnesota State University and two pass breakups later in the season.

Played a roll in the Beavers taking 21st in the NCAA for passing yards allowed and 24th for team passing efficiency defense.

Second Team Offense

Isaac Hagstrom | Offensive Line | Redshirt Junior | Annandale, Minn.

After the regular season, BSU’s offense ranked 19th in the NCAA for 3rd down conversion, 12th in 4th down conversion, 44th in first downs offense, 28th in rushing offense, 40th in sacks allowed, 21st in tackles for loss allowed, 7th in time of possession, 50th in total offense, and 28th in winning percentage.

Jayden Washington | Running Back | Redshirt Sophomore | Apple Valley, Minn.

Led all Bemidji State rushers with 695 net yards, 720 total, on 137 rushing attempts and grabbed four touchdowns.

Washington averages 63.18 rushing yards per game and 5.1 per carry.

In just his second season for the Beavers, Washington has totaled 950 yards rushing between 2023 and 2024. He has also marked six total touchdowns.

Has played a key role in getting the Beavers to 28th in the nation for rushing offense and 7th in time of possession.

Second Team Defense

Kamron Gothard | Linebacker | Redshirt Junior | Sun Prairie, Wis.

Marked 16 solo tackles and eight assisted for 24 during his first season with the Gang Green Defense.

Added 5.5 tackles for a loss of 22 total yards and two sacks for 16.

Tallied an interception, eight pass breakups and one quarterback hurry.

Colton Hinrichs | Linebacker | Redshirt Junior | Bemidji, Minn.

Led Bemidji State’s defense with 62 total tackles, 28 solo and 34 assisted.

Marked six tackles for a loss of 35 total yards with 2.5 sacks for 21 yards.

Added a fumble recovery and an interception, plus two quarterback hurries.

Jamel Stone | Defensive Back | Senior | Sun Prairie, Wis.

A captain for BSU this season, Stone sat out three games due to injury but marked 16 total tackles and three pass breakups.

He also played a role in the Beavers’ special-teams units, marking 10 punt returns for 145 yards with a longest return of 30 yards against Michigan Technological University.

Marco Cavallaro | Defensive Line | Graduate Student | Newport, Minn.

Took third on the team for total tackles with 49, 20 solo and 29 assisted.

Added seven tackles for a loss of 29 yards and 3.5 sacks for 23 yards along with four quarterback hurries.

The Beavers open the NCAA Tournament at Angelo State on Saturday.
