BSU’s Tomcikova & Cody named to All-WCHA Teams


As the weekend of the WCHA Final Faceoff nears, the league announced tonight this season’s award winners. Bemidji State University had two players named to the All-WCHA Teams and 15 named to the All-WCHA Academic Team.

Zuzana Tomcikova, the junior goaltender from Bratislava, Slovakia was named to the All-WCHA Second Team, while Erin Cody, a senior forward from Roseville, Minnesota was named to the All-WCHA Third Team. Tomcikova finished the season posting a .933 save percentage, a 1.84 goals against average and an overall record of 13-11-3. Erin Cody leaves BSU second all-time in scoring with 109 points (56 goals & 53 assists) in 144 games played.

Bemidji State University also had 15 players named to the 2010-11 All-WCHA Academic Team. That list includes the following:

To qualify for the All-WCHA Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed one year of eligibility at present institution, prior to the current academic year, and have a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the previous two semesters or three quarters.

The Beavers finished the season 5th in the WCHA with a record of 11-13-4 and an over all record of 14-17-4. They graduate three seniors: Erin Cody, Annie Bauerfeld and Erin Johnson. Bauerfeld broke the school record for most consecutive games played with 145 this past Sunday in game 3 of the WCHA playoffs.
