The Bemidji State University Men’s Golf Team was voted to finish fourth by league coaches announced in the 2025 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll Wednesday morning.
Reigning NSIC Tournament individual champion Logan Schoepp was selected as the Beavers’ preseason Golfer to Watch.
The Beavers garnered 58 points in the poll and one first-place vote while Winona State University received four first-place votes finished atop the poll with 71 points.
“I’m excited to see what this team can do with significant upperclassmen leadership and some great young competitors,” said head coach Ben Corbid. “We have a strong schedule this season that will challenge our players and give them great opportunities to compete. I’m looking forward to seeing how this group competes and grows together throughout the year.”
Schoepp, last season’s NSIC Individual Champion and two-time All-NSIC selection, returns for his senior season after leading the Beavers and finished seventh in the conference with a 73.2 scoring average during the 2024-25 season. He posted four top-five finishes over 22 rounds and shot a seven-under par 209 to win the NSIC Championship. Schoepp has also excelled in the classroom and is the program’s first-ever CSC Academic All-America At-Large First Team selection.
“Logan is a strong leader by displaying discipline, sportsmanship, and consistent performance,” said Corbid. “He motivates teammates by maintaining a positive attitude and encouraging focus during both practice and competition. He is also a leader in the classroom, being a CSC Academic All-America Division II Men’s At-Large team. His hard work paid off in the spring of 2025 being the individual champion at the NSIC conference Champion.”
Beavers will have new leadership for the program for the first time in 15 years as Ben Corbid takes the reigns from Ekren Miller after he accepted the head coaching position at North Dakota State University. Corbid spent the past two seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Beavers and was a student-athlete for the program for five years.
Corbid has returned nine letterwinners to the squad that tie for third at the NSIC Championships last season while two newcomers make their green and white debut.
The 2025-26 Beaver Golf Fall season begins Sept. 8-9 when the Beavers hos the 74th annual Bemidji State Invitational at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. Bemidji State will compete in five tournaments during the fall season before the championship season in the spring.
