Beavers travel to face pair of NSIC’s top opponents in Huskies and No. 2 Mavericks
BSU travels to face top two teams in NSIC standings
The Bemidji State University Women’s Soccer team will face two of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference’s top teams on the road this weekend traveling to St. Cloud State University and No. 2 Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The Beavers begin the weekend at St. Cloud State Friday, Oct. 10 with kick-off scheduled for 5 p.m. BSU will then travel to Mankato, Minn., Sunday and face the second-ranked Mavericks at 1 p.m.

Minnesota State and St. Cloud State rank one and two in the NSIC standings each holding an undefeated record in conference play. The Mavericks hold the top spot with 18 points and are 8-0-1 (6-0-0 NSIC) overall. The Huskies are second with 14 points standing with a 6-0-3 (4-0-2 NSIC) record overall. However, the Beavers are close behind and tied for fourth in the standings with 11 points and have just one loss in conference play (5-2-2, 3-1-2 NSIC).
Bemidji State is led by senior Katrina Barthelt who ranks third in the NSIC with 13 points on the season and is tied for second with five goals. She is followed by Molly Burkstrand, Kenzie Harer, Emma Huelsnitz, Maggie Kramer, Ella Wade and Sylve Waters who each have two points.
The Beavers are third in the NSIC having allowed just four goals in conference play while their nine goals for ranks eighth.
Bemidji State has split time in goal between Sonia Alfieri, Rozlyn Buettner and Payton Kropp who each have started and appeared in three games. Alfieri leads the team with 18 saves, boasts a .947 save percentage and is 2-0-1 with two shutouts. She boasts the second-best save percentage in the NSIC.
Buettner is 2-1-0 with two shutouts as well and has a .889 save percentage with eight saves while Kropp is 1-1-1 with 13 saves and a .765 save percentage.
