Bemidji State University President Dr. Richard Hanson today announced Tracy Dill as a finalist for the University’s Director of Intercollegiate Athletics position. Dill will be on campus for his interview April 19. It is the understanding of the Beaver Radio Network that Dill will be the only finalist, and an announcement of his hiring is pending agreement on contract details.
Dill is currently the associate athletic director at St. Cloud State University, a position he has held since 1999. In that capacity, he has been responsible for sponsorships, marketing efforts for the Huskies’ 23-program department as well as TV/radio and web streaming rights and ticket sales. During his 27-year career at SCSU he also served as assistant athletic director from 1995-99, was head men’s and women’s track and field coach from 1988-99 and was an assistant football coach for the Huskies from 1985-95. Prior to St. Cloud State, he spent four years at William and Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he was as the head men’s and women’s track and field coach, intramural director and assistant football coach.
Dill earned a bachelor’s degree in English from William and Penn College in 1981 and a master’s degree in athletic administration from SCSU in 1987.
Members of the community area are invited to join BSU administration and the athletic director search committee for a community reception for Dill Friday from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Sanford Center convention lobby. Attendees are asked to enter through Gate 4.
