Bemidji State went to Colorado last weekend as part of the NSIC / RMAC Challenge.
Friday night, a first half riddled with turnovers and missed free throws dug the Bemidji State University men’s basketball team into a hole it couldn’t get itself out of as it fell in the 2011-12 season opener to No. 10 Metropolitan State College of Denver 71-60. The Beavers (0-1) got as close as five in the second half, but could complete the comeback on the road.
Then on Saturday, The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team never trailed as it picked up its first win of the season with a 77-69 victory at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Saturday. The Beavers pushed to a double-digit lead in the first half and held off a Mountain Lion run in the second half to earn the win and go 1-1 in the NSIC/RMAC Challenge in Colorado.
