The Bemidji State women’s hockey team scored a big win over Robert Morris University Friday in the RMU Hockey Showcase at the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins; The Consol Energy Center.
Three Beavers scored their third goal of the season. Freshmen Natasha Kostenko and Whitney Wivoda each scored in the first to give the Beavers a 2-0 lead going into the second period. The Colonials answered back in the second to tie the game up 2-2.
Senior defender Kimberly Lieder scored the game winning goal at the 11:36 mark of the third period off a slapshot at the top of the left circle.
Bemidji State won 3-2 to lift their record to 11-7-2 on the season.
The Beavers play the Colonials Saturday afternoon at 4:15pm (CST) at the RMU Island Sports Center.
