Friday night in Bemidji, senior Bryce Tesdahl (G, Crosby, Minn.) dished out 12 helpers and posted 11 points to assist the Bemidji State University men’s basketball team to a 76-57 victory against University of Minnesota, Crookston Friday at the BSU Gymnasium in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest. Most of Tesdahl’s career-tying assists went to senior forward James Ellisor (Glendale, Ariz.) and junior Lance Rongstad (G/F, Eleva, Wis.), who posted 25 and 21 points, respectfully. BSU improved to 17-6 overall and 12-5 in NSIC play with the win.
The 12 assists moves Tesdahl’s season number to 141 and places him fifth on BSU’s single season assists chart. With five regular season games left, the senior is just 27 assists shy of breaking BSU’s single season assist record of 167, held by James Roberson (2003-04). The 12 assists ties himself and Roberson for second on the program’s single game assists list. Tesdahl has three double-digit assist games this season and nine in his career. The double-double is the first of the season and fourth of his career. He joins Ellisor (three) and Rongstad (one) with double-doubles this season.
For the third time this season the Beavers had two players score 20 or more points in a game.
