Sophomore Mary Elmquist (Elk River, Minn.) carded an 18-over-par 162 (78-83) to finish tied for 20th individually and help lead the Bemidji State University women’s golf to eighth place Saturday and Sunday at the Concordia University Holiday Inn Invitational at Tartan Park Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
Elmquist’s 36-hole to left her 13 strokes behind the pace of individual medalist Tavia Rutherford (+4/149) from the University of Sioux Falls.
The Beavers’ team total of 693 (342-351) put the Beavers in eighth place overall.
The host, Concordia-St. Paul, placed two individuals in the top five and fired a two-day total of 628 (314-314) to take a two-stroke victory over Augustana College (630).
Bemidji State returns to action Sept. 20-12 when it travels to the Marshall Country Club in Marshall, Minn. for the 2014 Mustang Invitational.
