The Bemidji State University football team (1-4; 1-0 NSIC North) plays host to University of Minnesota Crookston (0-5, 0-1 NSIC North) this weekend at the scenic Chet Anderson Stadium. The game brings the coveted “Hubcap” up for grabs as the Golden Eagles are currently in possession.

Bemidji State University’s Megan Lushanko (F, Jr., Chisago City, Minn.) Ryan Shields (QB, 6-1, 181, So., Roseville, Calif.) and have been selected as Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week, after outstanding individual athletic performances during the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

Shields led the BSU football team to its first victory of the season Saturday, completing 17-of-38 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns to earn a 21-20 victory over University of Mary. His 276 yards of passing goes down as a career best and marks his third consecutive game with at least 250 yards through the air. He added 24 yards rushing on five carries, including a season-long, 18-yard run.
