UPDATE….this is the release from Bemidji State:

Bemidji State University Assistant Football Coach Eric Medberry has announced he will not return to the BSU football coaching staff for the 2015 season.

“Bemidji State has been my home for over 12 years and is a place that will always be special,” Medberry said. “My wife and I would like to thank all the people who have made this place so rewarding and memorable.”

He said he and his family hope to remain part of the Bemidji-area community as he seeks “new opportunities, challenges and adventures.”

Medberry, who began at Bemidji State as a graduate assistant in 2003 and 2004, returned to the BSU coaching staff in 2006, was named as offensive coordinator in 2007 and remained in that post until the completion of the 2014 season.

Under Medberry’s direction, BSU’s rushing offense ranked among the top 35 teams nationally on three occasions (2009 – 27th, 2010 – 35th and 2011 – 10th) and was among the top 10 in 2011, while establishing a new BSU record with 2,656 yards.

Bemidji State Head Football Coach Jeff Tesch said he has enjoyed working with Medberry.

“I want to thank Eric for his service at Bemidji State and his loyalty to the Beaver football program,” Tesch said. “I wish him the best of luck as he and his family investigate new professional opportunities.”

Bemidji State will begin a national search for a new assistant football coach in preparation for the 2015 season.
