The No. 7 Bemidji State University women’s hockey team swept its season series with the University of Minnesota Duluth after blanking the Bulldogs, 2-0 Saturday afternoon. Junior Brittni Mowat earned her 15th career shutout, fourth of the season, after stopping all 27 shots by UMD.
The season sweep by the Beavers marks the first time in program history that Bemidji State has swept the Bulldogs during the regular season and is their fifth-straight win against UMD
Kaitlyn Tougas and Madison Hutchinson each scored for Bemidji State while Reilly Fawcett, Whitney Wivoda, Stephanie Anderson, and Alexis Joyce each tallied assists.
Bemidji State will return home next weekend and will host No. 3 University of Minnesota, Jan. 29-30.
