The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team used an attack from behind the arc to hold an advantage late Saturday against Minot State University, but MSU used an 8-0 run in the final quarter to take a 66-58 win from BSU. Bemidji State (7-17, 3-17 NSIC) converted 11 shots from behind the arc in the loss at BSU Gymnasium to Minot State (10-16, 7-13 NSIC).
Bemidji State began Saturday’s game with sights on long-range shots, as the team sank its first three buckets from behind the arc. The final 3-pointer of the opening streak, junior Aimee Pelzer’s first in the game, brought BSU within two points, 11-9, at the four-minute mark. Both teams traded baskets to finish the quarter as Minot State led, 17-13.
The Beavers hit the road Feb. 19-20 to close out the regular season. Bemidji State will first travel to Moorhead, Minn., to take on Minnesota State University Moorhead and will follow up with a trip to Aberdeen, S.D., to face Northern State University.
