The No. 7 Bemidji State University women’s hockey team defeated Minnesota State University, Mankato 2-1, Saturday to wrap-up the regular season. The Beavers (22-9-3, 17-9-2 WCHA) set a new program-best with their 22nd win.
Junior Lauren Miller scored the game-tying goal and senior Kristin Huber had the game-winning goal for the Beavers. Brittni Mowat stopped 19-of-20 shots to extender her season record to 22-9-2.
Bemidji State now ends the regular season with their best ever finish in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association with a third place finish.
Bemidji State will begin the first round of the WCHA Playoffs next weekend and hosts the University of Minnesota Duluth in a best-of-three series. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Sanford Center box office for $12 for adults and $8 for youth.
