Bemidji State University women’s basketball Head Coach Chelsea DeVille announced the 2016-17 schedule today. The Beavers schedule features 22 conference, four non-conference and one exhibition matchup that begins Nov. 3.
Bemidji State opens the season calendar with an exhibition contest against North Dakota State University (Nov. 3) in Fargo, N.D. The official season will be kicked off with a home game against Mayville State University (Nov. 12) at BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers head to St. Cloud, Minn., for the Huskies Classic to face Northland College (Nov. 18) and Fort Hays State (Nov. 19) before their final non-conference match-up against Crown College (Nov. 26) at home.
Bemidji State travels to University of Minnesota Duluth (Dec. 2) and St. Cloud State University (Dec. 3) for the first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games of the season. After hosting Northern State University (Dec. 9) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (Dec. 10), BSU will finish the calendar year on the road at University of Minnesota Crookston (Dec. 15), University of Upper Iowa (Dec. 30) and Winona State University (Dec. 31).
The month of January features seven of nine games at home for Bemidji State, including three to be played at the Sanford Center. The Beavers close out the conference series against the Huskies (Jan. 6) and Bulldogs (Jan. 7) before hosting the Golden Eagles (Jan. 10) at the Sanford Center. University of Sioux Falls (Jan. 13) and Southwest Minnesota State University (Jan. 14) end a five-game home stand for Bemidji State, with both games being played at BSU Gymnasium. BSU heads west for a North Dakota road trip against Minot State University (Jan. 20) and University of Mary (Jan. 21) for their only road contests of the month. Bemidji State and Concordia University-St. Paul (Jan. 27) meet before BSU plays Minnesota State University, Mankato (Jan. 28) in a home weekend series.
The final road trip of the season has Bemidji State traveling to Wayne State University (Feb. 3), Augustana University (Feb. 4), MSU Moorhead (Feb. 10) and Northern State (Feb. 11). The Beavers conclude the regular season at home against U-Mary (Feb. 17) and Minot State (Feb. 18).
The top four teams of each NSIC division will host the first round of the conference tournament on their home courts before the NSIC Tournament moves to Sioux Falls, S.D., for the quarterfinal through finals match-ups.
