Jada Barker and Alex Coleman each posted personal-best sprint times, while Vanessa Rae Lopez inched closer to the 1,000-meter record with a season-best mark Friday as the Bemidji State University Track and Field team hosted the Beaver Twilight.
Barker opened the running events qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter dash with a season-best 7.98 seconds only to better her time in the finals, placing second with a 7.95.
Coleman trimmed nearly a second from her 400-meter time, clocking a 1:00.10 to finish second. In addition, she also placed second in the long jump, clearing 17 feet, 9.5 inches.
Fresh off a school record in the mile run a week ago, Lopez set her sights on another in the 1,000-meter run. While she finished just off school-record time, she posted a personal-best 3:05.91 in the event.
