Bemidji State University senior softball pitcher Jessica Yost has been tabbed the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week, Monday.
The Bemidji, Minn., native earns her first conference honor of the 2017 season and third of her career.
Yost posted a perfect 5-0 record during the week and in 24.0 innings compiled a 0.29 ERA with three shutouts including a perfect game against University of Minnesota Crookston, Mar. 30.
She began the week by pitching her first career perfect game complete with 12 strikeouts against the Golden Eagles in game one of their doubleheader. Yost then followed her performance by pitching four innings allowing just one hit in a 3-1 win.
Yost then shutout Minnesota State University, Moorhead in five innings April 1 to earn her third win of the weekend. In the last series of the weekend, Yost pitched all 10 innings against Northern State allowing just one unearned and surrendered just six hits to the Wolves.
Yost totaled 44 strikeouts during the weekend and only walked one batter to hold opponents to just a .123 batting average.
Yost leads the NSIC with a 0.86 ERA this season and is second in the league with 157 strikeouts. BSU plays at U-Mary on Wednesday, before making their Beaver Radio Network debut Saturday against Upper Iowa.
