The @BSUBeavers soccer team looks to remain undefeated as it heads to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on University of Sioux Falls at 11 am Saturday before heading to Marshall, Minn. to battle Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. Sunday.
No. 21 Bemidji State extended its season-opening unbeaten streak to 13 matches this past weekend, earning a 2-0 victory over Wayne State Saturday and a 1-1 double overtime tie with Augustana, Sunday. The 13-match unbeaten streak is a program record for BSU.
Bemidji State goalkeeper, Anna Fobbe collected her sixth victory of the season Saturday, combining with Catherine Arneson to post BSU’s 10th shutout of the season. Arneson turned aside nine of the 10 shots she faced in 155 minutes last weekend. The penalty-kick goal she allowed late in the regulation Sunday was the first goal she has allowed all season. She posted a 0.58 Goals Against Average and .900 save percentage in seven starts and eight appearances (654:04 minutes). Arneson leads a BSU defensive effort that ranks third in the nation with allowing 0.178 goals per game this season, with Arneson third individually at .140. With 10 goals and six assists through 13 matches, Rachael Norton leads BSU and the NSIC in scoring, points (26), and goals per game (.769), and is second only to teammate Allyson Smith in assists (6). BSU has outscored its opponents 30-3 this season.
