Beaver Volleyball begins 2019 campaign with four matches at Ferris State Invitational

The Bemidji State University volleyball team officially begins its 2019 campaign this weekend and will travel to Big Rapids, Michigan to participate in the Ferris State Invitational on the campus of Ferris State University.

The Beavers (0-0, 0-0 NSIC) will play four non-conference matches Friday-Saturday beginning with University of New Haven Friday, September 6 at 9 a.m. BSU will then face Wayne State University (Mich.) at 1 p.m. to conclude the first day of the tournament.

The Beavers continue play early Saturday, September 7 against Ohio Dominican at 8 a.m., followed by the final match of the tournament against McKendree University at noon.

Head-to-Head Series
New Haven: Friday morning’s matchup against the Chargers will be just the second time the Beavers and Chargers have faced each other on the court. Bemidji State and New Haven first met in 2008 at the UMD Classic where the Beavers fell 3-1 to the Chargers.

Wayne State (Mich): Bemidji State and Wayne State (Mich.) will meet for the first time in each of the school’s program histories Friday.

Ohio Dominican: Saturday’s first match of the day against the Panthers will be just the second meeting between Bemidji State and Ohio Dominican. The two teams previously met in 2015 with the Beavers falling to the Panthers 3-0 at the GVSU Lake Riverfront Classic in Allendale, Mich.

McKendree: Saturday’s meeting between the Bearcats and the Beavers will be the first ever in the two program’s histories.
