Men’s Hockey complete non-conference season with No. 5 Bowling Green

The Bemidji State University men’s hockey team will return to action this week when it host No. 5 Bowling Green State University for a two-game, non-conference series at Sanford Center. The series will get underway at 5:07 p.m. Thursday before a 2:07 p.m. opening faceoff Friday.

For the third and fourth times in less than two weeks, the Beavers (3-4-2) will go head-to-head with nationally-ranked Bowling Green (14-2-0). Bemidji State is 1-1-0 versus the Falcons this season and accounted for one of BGSU’s two losses, a 4-3 overtime victory in Bowling Green, Ohio, Jan. 8.

BSU opens the weekend series unbeaten in four of its last five contests (2-1-2), while the Beavers look to continue their success versus the Falcons, owning a 3-1-1 record versus BGSU since Feb. 23, 2019.

Overall, since the teams opened their rivalry Dec. 30, 2011, Bowling Green holds a 15-11-3 record versus BSU, while the Beavers have earned a 7-5-2 mark when hosting the Falcons in Bemidji, Minn.

Sanford Center, just like all other state university athletic facilities, continue to operate under guidance from the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities to limit in-person activities on campus until at least February 1. While no fans will be allowed inside the venue, there are still options for fans to follow the Beavers live.

As always, all games will also be carried by the Beaver Radio Network both 92.1 The River and online at beaverradionetwork.com.
